The Opera:

The Fairy Queen, often called a semi opera, because it has spoken parts, was written to be performed in conjunction with Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream. Opera Popolare's production will focus on Purcell's music while inserting enough spoken dialogue to round out the story.

Singing characters from A Midsummer Night's Dream include Titania, fairies, Hermia and Lysander, and various gods and goddesses. Katie Kennedy, last seen in the April Opera Selections Concert, will sing the role of Titania. Other singers include Opera Popolare veterans, Jared Anderssel, Fred Lund, Karen Powers, Marily Junkersfeld, Denise Reynolds, Annette Richardson, Alexander Todd, Scott Fleischmann, Serena Viens, Sue Rivord, Sonia Alexis, Wanda Maddox, Wendy Donaghy, Heidi Roland, and Celie Thomas. New Opera Popolare members include Tricia Sikes, Sam Muscatine, Sage Hoag, Lesley Rigg, Kendrick Bradley, Eddie Lester, Caitlin Hill, Justin Cook, and Bryce Bernal.

Director and Conductor:

Through Ensemble Enterprises Inc and Robert Viens Studio of Voice, Rob Viens has shown his dedication to the world of music and his passion for assisting singers achieve their dreams.
